As a dedicated member of our community, Laura is deeply connected to and reliant on the unique beauty of the Shenandoah River. It’s not just a body of water to her—it’s a source of cherished memories, a daily inspiration, and a vital resource for her family, friends, and all who enjoy its recreational offerings.

Growing up in Toms Brook at Riversong Farm and spending countless hours at her grandmother’s property in Sandy Hook, the Shenandoah River has been a constant presence in her life. Its serene waters and soothing sounds evoke nostalgic childhood memories and fuel her passion for preserving its splendor. She is honored to continue the legacy of her grandmother, Roberta Hinkins, and her husband, Robert Kranich, who were instrumental in founding Friends of the North Fork. Their dedication to protecting this natural treasure inspires her to take on the role of Executive Director and dedicate her time and expertise to advancing our mission.

“I am committed to supporting Friends’ efforts in education, science, advocacy, and community action. Together, let’s ensure that the North Fork remains clean, healthy, and beautiful for generations to come. Join me as we embark on this journey of preservation and growth!”
